This is the website of the Rizomatic Orchestra. We’re an all-improvisational experience of musical journeys and ritual dance. Rather than feature a fixed cast of musicians, our lineup has evolved in a loose flow.  Orchestra alumni include David Gans, Middle Eastern drumming veteran Pierre Noghli, Steve Ashman of the Zasu Pitts Memorial Orchestra and members of the Eugene, OR-based Reggae act I-Chele and the Circle of Light.

Founded in 2007, the Rizomatic Orchestra has played to filled Theaters and at Festivals in California, Oregon and in Europe, where the Orchestra was joined by members of Hollywood 90’s hopefuls the Deep Happy and Houston-based session bassist Cisco Ruiz to play a number of well-attended events in 2008.

The Orchestra is based in Portland, OR.
